<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Those were
some pretty cool pictures you sent of the moon and stuff. Here in Chile on Monday night we had the same
thing, but due to the smog it was super orange, pretty cool! That night we had gone out with President to
set a missionary apart in the district in Melipilla. That was a pretty cool experience. Never had seen a missionary being set apart
other than my own and I had the opportunity to participate in the circle. I felt weird knowing that the whole mission
experience is coming to an end, and in a short time I would not have that same
authority and power that a missionary has. It also helped me realize just how important
and special of a calling it is to be a missionary. Sure gonna miss this all
alot. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I am
excited for those fresh garden raspberries and cucumbers! Sounding pretty good! And about the Lost Creek Lake - I remember me
and Kade had plans to go find it, but it never happened. Hey, I hope you guys have some sweet hikes
planned for the weekend after I get home cause I am ready! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> This week
was a pretty good week! Turned out
having to give a lot of capacitationes and classes and stuff to the mission so
that was an interesting experience - never thought I would be the one giving
those, haha. But it was good, learned
alot from it! We had some meetings for
some new missionaries and also we went to a few zone conferences and stuff. Also had the chance to get out on some more
divisions! Just here in the city, but it
was really good. I have been really
enjoying these divisions! And as for
transport, well, lots and lots of buses. I have spent over 50 or 60 dollars on buses in
these 3 weeks, haha, lots and lots of buses! It is nice already knowing the mission from
being pensionist! Helps out a ton!
Yesterday I was able to be with a couple of Elders from Shelly, Idaho and
Blackfoot, Idaho! So that was fun
getting to be with some Idaho boys! The
Elder From Shelley said he knows the Fowler family! His name is Elder Cannon. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Other
than that, things have been great! Been
super busy, so have not had too much time to get trunky yet, but this week we
go to the temple and have going home classes and eat dinner with President and
stuff, so I think it is gonna hit me this week :( But we will see how it
goes! </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I hope
everyone is doing good! I love and miss
you all!! Have a great week this week!

enjoy it! :)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola! Wow, it
looks like you guys had a great camping trip! Hope that was a good birthday trip for you! Looks like you guys had lots of fun!! Wow and those raspberries really are looking
good! Make sure you save some for me for
in a couple weeks! You guys are gonna
have to make those brownies and pancakes and Dutch oven again - that is for
sure!! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> A couple of days ago President sent us off to
the coast and we got back during the day today so my p-day got cut a little
short, so I don't have too much time to write today! But ya, I happened to be
right in San Antonio when the earthquake happened, so I felt it for sure. Then pretty sure I heard the tsunami warnings
going off, but I think I thought it was just my dream so I just went back to
sleep, haha. But luckily nothing
happened there! But I did feel it pretty
strong! I was actually in the ward llo lleo here for the last couple of
days, the same sector that I was in a year ago, so that was pretty cool! The Elders were having some troubles working
there, but we ended up having a great couple of days, so that was really cool. It is awesome to see how happy we missionaries
can be if we just get out and work as hard as we can! It really does make all the difference! It has been a great couple of weeks traveling
around with some of the missionaries. I
have been learning a ton - change helps me progress a lot, that is for sure. I started out the week in the center of Santiago
and then went to Maipu for a few days and then headed out to the coast. It has been fun getting to know all these new
people, but it has been interesting. I
have learned to rely a ton on the spirit to help me in the lessons - way more
than before cause I know nothing about any of the people we are teaching now. I have really loved that part about it all -
the Lord really does know what he is doing when it comes to the missionary
work! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well I
had better get going - we need to go meet up with some other elders here in
just a bit, but I hope everyone is doing great! I am excited to see you in a couple of weeks! Have a great week this week!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Well, those
are some pretty sweet pictures again like always!! And looks like you had
a couple of good days up in Jackson getting everything figured out up
there! I hope that you guys had a great camping trip up there in Granite!!
:) Kind of a funny story about camping..
Well, I have been wanting to go camping for a couple
of weeks now. Really been itching to go - I guess with all my buddies
home writing me all about it, haha. And well I guess I better be careful
what I wish for! Because turns out I am
gonna be "camping" for the last four weeks of my mission, haha. We got the call on Saturday night last week,
and to our surprise we both had changes! Thought that was pretty crazy to pull both the
zone leaders out of a zone and out of the sector that was going along pretty
good, but everything happens for a reason I guess. I was kinda lost about where I would be going
and stuff, and actually pretty sad about leaving the ward for the last couple
weeks. But President had a little
surprise for us. Monday in the change
conference, President announced that me and Elder Caballero would be staying
together and we would be the two new Traveling Assistants! So I will be with him for half my mission! I was a little nervous that first day, but it
has actually turned out to be great! Our
responsibility is to travel the mission and fix problems, haha, fun stuff. So we pretty much just live on divisions with
the companionships that are having problems. President passed us a sleeping bag
and a paper thin foam pad and said have fun!! haha. So I really will be camping - gonna miss my
mattress, that is for sure! But it will
get my back used to sleeping on the hard ground again so I will be ready! We started out the week by taking all the go
homers to the airport and meet the families of the ones that came to Chile to pick
their kids up, and well I gotta say that was the trunkiest experience that I
have had so far on the mission, haha. And
then the next day we spent the whole day training the new missionaries that
just arrived in the mission from the MTC. That was lots of fun - spent a lot of the day
just getting to know them and stuff and we went out contacting with them so
that was fun. Definitely way more
prepared than I was when I first got here!! Then on Wednesday we spent the day in some
training with President and went out to eat some nice American hamburgers at Johnny
Rockets, so it has its advantages too, haha. Then on Wednesday night we headed out to start
up the divisions. It was actually super
good - I liked it a lot. And Friday we
went to a couple other companionships, so it has been a pretty interesting
experience. Elder Caballero and I do not
have a sector to work in, so all the time we are not doing stuff with or for President
we are out on divisions. But I am liking
it a lot - it has been really good being with the missionaries and helping them
out! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> It was very sad leaving and saying goodbye
to the ward and our investigators and everything. I have not cried very many times here out on
the mission but giving my testimony to say goodbye to the ward was definitely
one of them. Didn't realize how much I
loved all the people there and stuff until I had to leave. 5 out of the 8 missionaries left the ward last
Sunday, so there was not a dry eye in the church Sunday. We had the highest attendance I have ever seen
in that ward on Sunday so that was pretty cool to see - they are definitely
starting to grow!! I will try to send all of the pictures of saying
goodbye to everyone and stuff! Everyone
was pretty surprised that we were both heading out!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> It has been
pretty weird not worrying about our investigators and all the people we are teaching
and stuff. I felt really weird for the
first couple of days, because for the last 6 months we have been so involved
with all the people we are teaching and now we do not have a sector - just
worrying about the missionaries, but I am getting used to it now, and having a
great experience with it all!! I have learned a bunch of stuff here in
these last few days!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well I've
got to get going. I hope that everyone is doing great up there in the
states!! I love and miss you all! Have a great week this week!!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola! Well, looks
like you guys had a pretty sweet hike up to the lake! That's cool with all the snow and stuff -
looks like it was a good day! I think I
can hear the mountains calling my name from the computer!! And that looks pretty crazy what Kim and Missy
are doing there, haha. I wanna give that
one a try for sure :) Hopefully everything
goes well with the kid that is gonna be baptized. It is always a bummer when they decide to wait,
but it is always good to be sure, and hopefully it all goes through well! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> This next weekend will be the last
transfers that I will have and it is only going to be a transfer of 4 weeks, so
I hope I don't get changed for the last 4 weeks! That would kinda be a bummer, but it might
have to be done cause me and my comp go home on the same day, so he might have
to put someone in to learn the sector. But just have to see what happens! Things have been going pretty good here in the
ward and the sector! Saturday the ward had
an activity finally - the first time in a very long time so that was great. We had a porrotada, or a bean party, haha. The people really like beans here in Chile, so
they made a huge pot of beans and everyone came for lunch. Turned out pretty
good and had some less actives there, so that was good. The bad part was that
everyone ate a TON of beans, and we had church the next day. You can imagine what happened. We had to leave the windows open to air out
the chapel, and that ain't no joke, haha. Then there was a ton of leftovers too, so all
the sisters took them home and that is what we ate for lunch yesterday, and I
have a feeling we are gonna eat that all week long :) It is gonna be an "airy" week this
week! But anyways, other than beans, it
turned out to be a good week for us! We
are progressing a lot with a couple part member families, so that has been
really good. One couple is really close
to getting married. We have been
bringing a lot of couples from the ward to their house and they have been
accepted really good so that has been nice to see. The wife will get baptized as soon as they can
get married. It is kinda tough down here
in Chile, so they are figuring out what they need to do now. The husband got baptized when he was 8 and went
inactive at 9, and he has about 36 years now so he is like teaching an investigator
because he does not remember very much. But
they are both very receptive and their daughter loves going to primary - she
has 9 years. We are also teaching two
other boys - nine and ten year olds. Their
grandma lives with them and is an active member, but their mom does not want
them to be baptized. Really do not
understand it. Don't know why a mother
would not want her kids to be baptized in a church where they teach great
values. So we have been trying to talk
to her and stuff, but it has been pretty tough. The kids read the scriptures and pray every
day with their grandma and want to be baptized really bad, so guess we just
have to pray that the mom will soften her heart a little bit! We are also teaching some kids of a less
active that is coming back and they are really great - Oscar, 16 and Camilia, 14.
They have been progressing pretty good,
so they should be getting baptized here this next month!!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Good to
know about the talk! Still have some
time but I guess I will have to start putting some stuff together her soon. Kinda tuff without a topic cause I have
learned so much stuff, I could never put it into twenty minutes!! Anything special you guys want to hear about?
any certain topic?? Well I hope that you
all are all doing good! I hope you guys get some more sweet hikes in!! Have a great week this week! Oh not sure
if I told you already, but I will get home on Tuesday the 26th of August. I think it is at about 10:30 in the morning -
the ticket is bought so it is a sure thing now. It leaves Monday night at 8. Well, I
will talk to ya all next week! Love and
miss you all! :)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Those are
some pretty good pictures you guys got of the Tetons again! Looks like you guys had a pretty good day on
the lake even though you did not catch too much, but it looks like a pretty
day! Haha, and holy cow, those are some pretty sweet cow costumes
Carrie! Hope you guys got some free
food! And thanks for all the birthday wishes! The senior couple that is in the office right
now are pretty much like my grandparents here in the mission cause I was in the
office with them for a long time and stuff, and so they always spoil me and my
companion a lot. But anyways, he called
me as soon as the package got in and told me that I had to come and get it
since it was my birthday! So I did get
it today!! Thanks a bunch!! I think that they sent a picture of me with it
to you guys too! But wow - corn nuts,
kinda forgotten about those things, but sure tasted good! And I definitely have enough jelly bellys to
finish the mission off with, haha. But
Muchas Gracias!! I actually had a pretty
good birthday here yesterday too. The inactive lady that I told you about a few
weeks ago had a little surprise party for me, so that was really nice. She made a big homemade cake that was super
good! So that was really nice of her! They even smashed my face into it, haha. I will try to send some pictures of them with
the cake and stuff so I hope that my computer lets me send them! Some other members said that they have a cake
waiting for me tonight and then a couple more later this week, haha. So the people here are really very nice, and
they sure treat the misioneros good that is for sure! Might gain a little weight back this week
though with all those corn nuts and jelly beans and cake, haha. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Saturday we
were able to have a pretty cool experience. We got to go to the temple with Winston and Patricio!!
We have been working hard with them to
be able to do some family names and stuff, and Mom, it turns out that on the
list you sent me all the ordinances had been done except for one male and one
female! Looks like you are working a
little too fast on those names Mom, haha. But it is ok. The temple had a big list of names and
it turns out that pretty much all the Mormons in Chile went to the temple on Saturday,
and all the temple workers were going crazy!! There were huge groups of young men and women
that came in without scheduling, so they were actually rejecting people cause
they did not have enough time and priesthood holders to do all the baptisms,
and turns out we were not able to do the baptisms. They were able to do confirmations though and
that was good. They both felt the spirit
really strong and liked the temple a lot, so it was a good experience, but it
looks like they need to get going on the temple that they are building in Concepcion!
Don't know if it is like that every Saturday,
but it sure was busy!! But it is always
nice to be able to be inside the temple for a little bit and get away from the
world. I am always amazed every time I
go into the temple and how peaceful and quiet it is. That is definitely one of the goals I have is to
be able to go to the temple as much as I can!! :) <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> We were
able to have some good lessons this week with some of the part member families,
and working hard trying to get some of these people married! There is a couple that is very close so we are
hoping to see some weddings before we have to leave the ward! Sure am liking it a lot here. There are a ton of great people and the work
is going good! Gonna be sad when I have
to leave! Today is my six week mark, so
that means one transfer. Crazy how fast
the time has gone by!! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Hola!!
Well, it looks like everyone had a good
Fourth of July! And those are some nice
photos Dad! They are looking good! That is too bad about your battery, but that
is good that you were able to get some anyways :) And Happy Birthday Rosie and Halle!! Sorry I
forgot to say that last week!! :) I
decided I could not let the Fourth of July pass without doing something so we
decided to buy some steaks and cook them up on the grill, but man, Chilean meat
just sure ain't the same as gringo meat. It is as tuff as nails. Sure am excited for that steak at Texas Roadhouse
:) I sent a picture of me with the meat
and the grill, and it is a good thing I cooked that in the dark. I realized just now when I sent the picture how
rusty the grill was haha, whoops... Wow, sounds like you had quite the
adventure with that car of Grandmas. Kinda
funny, while we were in the bus on our way here to the cyber today I was
thinking about what I was gonna write and stuff and I was thinking about the
car, and I thought, huh, wonder if Dad checked the fuses, haha. Looks like that was it!!! Think I received that revelation one week late
though, haha. But I am glad that you got
it up and running though! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">
This week we should be going to the temple, but the names you sent should
be enough. The converts that are going
with us have a few family names too, so it should be fine. It has been fun working with them on their family
history. They definitely have to start
from ground zero, that is for sure, but they have a lot of names right off to
do baptisms for though! They have been
pretty excited about the whole thing. I
think it will help them out a lot being able to go to the temple and do all
this family history work! I was
surprised by how much the family search website has changed - that is pretty
awesome. All the stuff they have on
there now sure makes it a lot easier to do all the work! Looks like they are still doing a lot of
indexing and stuff here in Chile so they have not been able to find a lot of
names through the records, but still a few, so that has been good! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

they make suits and stuff for businesses and stuff so last week she surprised
us with a brand new suit that she had made herself. It is pretty nice. It was super nice of her cause she does not
have much. So that was pretty
special! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

We had another good week this week here in our sector. We have been working super hard trying to do
as much as we can and we have been finding lots of new investigators and menos
activos. We are finding most of the investigators
through the menos activos, so that has been pretty cool working with a ton of
part member families. It is good and bad sometimes cause a lot of the menos
activos talk bad about the church and stuff in front of their family who aren't
members, but we have had some success though, so it has been good!!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

on his mission and he asked them if they could send him money to get some
things before he goes home, and they told him no. So I wanted to help him out a little cause he
has no money of his own either. One of
the things he really wanted was some leather scripture cases for his Bible and Book
of Mormon, and it is gonna be about 85 bucks in total. Don't know if you would want to help me out a
little on that or I can just pay for it if you want. But do you just want to make sure I have a
couple hundred dollars on my card? I am
gonna try and get some stuff here soon too. And if you could check on that pin number! Thanks dad! Have a great week this week! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Wow Dad,
thanks for all the photos and it looks like you did take a "few"
pictures of those flowers! You didn't burn out my computer but it
looks like you might have burnt out the flowers, haha. They were good pictures. Looks like the area you were in was very pretty
as well! We need to go skiing there for
sure!! And it looks like I should be
arriving into Salt Lake Tuesday morning (August 26th ?). It is not for sure yet, but that is what they
said normally happens for the gringos, so you should be able to plan on that!
Sounds like you guys have been keeping busy with Grandma's house and stuff! And good luck sleeping in the truck Saturday! Looks like you are becoming quite the
photographer! Taking some sacrifices to
get the good pictures! I am excited to
see how they turn out! And have fun in Colorado this week Mom! And thanks
for sending the names to do baptisms! Looks
like we are gonna go here in a couple of weeks because Winston is finishing all
his finals and stuff right now in college. But I will let you know how it all goes when
we go! Wow, looks like the work is going
pretty good there in the Bedford Ward! That
is awesome that you guys have some investigators coming and stuff, looks like
the ward mission leader is doing a pretty good job!! And thanks for writing about the hermana here.
We will just try to help her feel
the spirit and realize the importance of it all. I think that has been one of the hardest parts
of the mission for me. It is just frustrating when the people don't understand
the importance of it all - especially the ones that are endowed and sealed. Just got to have a lot of patience and love
them I guess, and let the Spirit do the work! We are getting very close with some menos
activos familias - just need a little push! So me and my comp have been planning a "noche
de visitas" with the ward, or a "night of visits" I guess, and
we had been getting all the members excited about it and last night we were
able to do it. We had really good support
from the Bishop and it turned out that a lot of the members came. Had about 50
- super good for an activity like that. We
split up and visited a bunch of inactive and less active families and it turned
out really good. We were able to reach a
lot of people and it helped a lot for sure, so that was our miracle for the
week. Never thought it would work out as
good as it did so we were very happy about that! The work here in our sector is going pretty good.
We were able to set a baptismal date
with a family Saturday and they came to church Sunday so that was great! So things are going pretty good! Glad that I am gonna be able to finish out
here in this ward!! I hope that you are
all doing good!! Have a great week this
week! I love and miss you all! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Wow, sounds
like you guys had quite the adventure this last week!! They have a saying here in Chile, "caminé
mas que un Mormón" or in English, "I walked more than a Mormon."
The people use this a lot actually when
they have walked a really long ways or something and they always say we walk a
ton. But even though we do walk a ton
down here, I think you guys are gonna be in way better shape than me for
hiking! You guys are crazy! :) Those were some pretty crazy hikes that you guys
were explaining about, and I think only you guys would hike to the top of a ski
resort and then ride the ski lift back up after you were done, haha. And I am down for a ski trip up there this
winter :) <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I enjoyed
reading the part of your letter about the parables and stuff. I think about 90 percent of menos activos are
form the lost coin part. That is at
least what they say anyway. This week we
have heard quite a few stories though, some of them make me think about the
story of the one lady who went inactive over the cream off the milk, back in Joseph
Smith's story. Pretty sad when the
people lose all those blessings from something that little, but it has opened
my eyes a lot and helped me learn. One
story we heard this week was pretty sad. We were visiting a lady last night and her
four kids and she was telling us she stopped going to church because they told
her that she would not be able to get sealed to her kids because her husband
cheated on her and they got a divorce when they were young and she has not had
the chance to get married again. So she
said if she cannot get sealed to her kids, there is no point of going to church
cause that is the one goal that she had. What exactly is the rule about getting sealed
in situations like that??<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> We did
have some pretty cool miracles going this week though that we were pretty happy
about! We are visiting two part member
families where in both cases the dad is the only member and the rest of the
family is not. They are both not married
but they want to get married and they and their whole family are all very
interested. One is a family of 6 and the
other is a family of 4. They were both
scared to go to church this week, but we prayed really hard for them and both
of the families came!! And we had a
couple of other people come for the first time, so we had 12 people in the
church for the first time!! That is the
most that have come for the first time in any of my sectors, so we were very
happy about that. Miracle for sure that
both of the families came! They both
liked the church a lot and are excited to come back so we are just gonna work
real hard with them these next couple of weeks so that they can get a marriage
date with the government. That is a big
challenge for missionaries down here - hardly anyone is married, so it makes it
tough and it takes a while for the people to be able to get married but we will
keep praying and fasting and see what happens so they can get married and
baptized! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well the
world cup of soccer is going on right now so that has been pretty interesting. Futbol
is huge down here - never have seen anything like it. For the games when Chile is playing, it is a
law that everyone goes home from work to watch the game. So during the games it is crazy - everyone
drinks and parties and so we cannot go out and work during the games, and if
they win we cannot go out after cause it is so crazy. Everyone watches the games - even the people
that don't like futbol watch it, haha. Chile
has won two games so far so they have been going crazy down here. That has been quite the experience for sure. Has been a challenge cause everybody watches
all the other games too so it is hard to get them to turn it off! But it has been fun seeing how crazy everyone
goes for futbol! :) <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well I
hope everyone is doing good up there and enjoying the summer! It has been getting pretty cold down here! An electric blanket has saved my life for
sure this winter!! I love and miss you all!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Happy Father's
Day Dad!! Thanks for all the pictures
you sent of Grandpa and stuff - it is always great to see him. I hope you had a good day!! They had a lunch after church here on Sunday
for Father's Day, but since the Priesthood is pretty weak here there are not
very many fathers that attend. So they
had us missionaries celebrate an early Father's Day, haha. The ward does not lack Relief Society though,
so the luncheon was pretty good :) We had transfers this week and to my
surprise l am still here in the ward, and with my same companion. We almost have 9 months together now and we
will be finishing together for sure now, so we will end with 11 months
together. Pretty crazy to be with a
companion that long - President talked to us after and said, "Well this
never happens but for some reason it had to happen this time." So looks like there is still some stuff that
we need to do here in this ward! We are
excited though - we get along very good and we have the whole teaching thing
down. Lessons have been going pretty smoothly,
haha. That makes life nice though - it
is always nice to have a companion you can teach well with, and that you can
get along with well. So this change we decided that we are really going to push
hard and see what we can do. We have made
some pretty good relationships with ward members too, so I think it should be a
good couple of months to finish out the mission! We have been finding
lots of new investigators through working with the menos activos lately so that
has been great and we are excited about that - lots of part member
families that are really receptive so we are working hard with them and things
have been looking pretty good! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Thanks
for your idea about the temple Dad. I
think we as missionaries do lose sight about what is the real goal for the
people and focus too much on just getting them back to church or getting the people
baptized, so I think if we do focus a lot more on the temple it will help a lot.
Help the people realize the importance
of the temple and help get the people that have already gone back. We
will be sure to start focusing on that some more!! We are getting some of
the recent converts ready with a lot of family names so that they can go to the
temple and be baptized for them - it is fun with these recent converts cause
they are the only members - no one else in their family - so they sure do have
lot of names to take to the temple!! We
are planning a day here in a couple of weeks so that should be fun! I am excited for that!! I will let you know if we need some more names
to do work for Mom :)<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Pretty
crazy that Blake is home and working already. I have been talking to him still and he says
he is saving those mountains for me, so I am excited for that, haha. It has snowed a ton here on the mountains so
it has been really pretty, but shoot, sure does make me trunky for snow and
mountains!! I think I am gonna have to
get a season pass for Targhee this year!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Wow Dad, those are some pretty sweet pictures of the Tetons!
They get better and better every week! You should get a nice Nikon or Cannon and
break it in for me, haha :) I bet those
pictures would look real nice then! haha. And good job in the
triathlon McDonald family!! Looks pretty
sweet!! And South Carolina, wo that
should be interesting :) Good luck with
everything! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well
this week here in Santiago was a great week. Had some nice rain and cool temperatures! So that was nice. The problem is in the stake the attendance
went down by half because it was raining - sure hope the Lord does not come on
a day it is raining! I don't think
anybody will come out of their houses down here! It was pretty interesting never have seen this
capilla that empty before. We got lots of work to do I guess! Yesterday
night we had a sweet meeting up in the area office building that is right by
the temple. Elder Viñas and Elder
Jimenez of the Seventy came and we had a meeting with all the stake presidents
and zone leaders that are in the Santiago South and West Missions - it was
quite the experience! It was just a big consejo that we talked about the
pilot plan we are doing here in these two missions about working with the menos
activos and stuff. Kinda disappointing
that our stake president did not come though. So we are gonna have to work extra hard in
this stake! But we learned lots of good
stuff and it was a great experience for us! We have transfers this
week so we will see what happens to me. I
have one and a half transfers left so I am guessing he will leave me here until
the end, but we will see. Might end up
in a new ward - hoping to finish it out here though - we have seen lots of cool
stuff.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Saw lots
of miracles this week again. It is crazy
how many miracles I am seeing here in this ward. The other day we walked
into a little almacen, like a little store thing and a lady grabbed my arm and
started to cry. I was kinda confused,
haha, but then she started to talk and she says that she talked to us about 4
months ago when I first got to this sector and said that she had asked us to
pray for her granddaughter that was in a coma from cancer surgeries. Anyway she told us that her granddaughter was
alright - she died for a little bit actually, but then came back to life. And she told us, thank you for praying for my
granddaughter, and then she said her son was a member inactive of our church
but that he wants to go back and the family wants to listen to our message
because now they all believe in God. So
the next day we stopped by their house. We
had an awesome lesson with them - the spirit was super strong and it looks like
things are going pretty good with them. It
is the dad, Jose, who is a member inactive. His wife Marcela, and his daughters Nicole and
Marta and he also live with his mom, Marta. They are all pretty excited about
the church and want to learn all they can. Pretty cool experience for us. It is crazy how the Lord prepares people to
listen to the gospel. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well
I gotta get going here soon, but it was great to hear from you. Thanks for registering for my classes Dad - everything
looks good!! And Mom, I got your letters
that had some stories of our ancestors, and that was really interesting!! I would love to hear more if you have any!! Have a great week this week! I love and miss you all!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well
it looks like I need to take an English class when I get back to school. Today we walked into the office and when President
saw me he started to laugh a little bit and told me to come look at something. When I was in the office, I made some maps
that we sent into the First Presidency to organize some stakes and stuff down
here in our mission, and in all the maps I had <u>Chaple</u> written in big
bold letters next to all the churches. Anyways,
he got a big kick out of that. I spelt
Chapel, Chaple, haha. He told me I
should take a spelling class at BYUI - maybe it would be a good idea. The sad part is that I did not even get his

think!! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well it
was a pretty good week here in our sector. Kinda lost touch with Armando. Not sure what happened - he is never home and
his cell phone does not work! So maybe
he decided to go back a little early to Colombia, but we will see!! It was good in our Stake this week though. The attendance went up quite a bit - we were
worried cause it has been so low lately but things are looking better now. All the missionaries are bringing lots of less
actives to church with this new pilot plan we are doing, so that is
really good, and we have been able to meet a bunch that we are starting
to work with and several have been coming the last few weeks so that has been
really good. Things are a little slow with investigators, but at least we have
lots of good menos acitvos to work with. One family is la familia Gomez. The parents and 7 children are all members but
don't attend church. They are sealed and
everything - just have to come to church!! We are really close with them, so hopefully
things go good. They are a great family,
just got their feelings hurt like all the other 900 members that are inactive
in our ward, haha. That is seriously the
only reason people say they don't attend - just cause someone looked at them
bad or said something kinda mean. Pretty
interesting, but lots of work for us to do I guess!! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Well! It was a great week this week! Thanks for sending all the pictures and the
letter and stuff Dad! Looks like we are
gonna get some rain so I am pretty happy about that one!! Sounds like you guys have been super busy
getting all Grandmas stuff ready and visiting a bunch of people and stuff! Look likes lots of traveling. And those are some pretty sweet pics of the Tetons
- you said you missed the good light, but it looks pretty good to me, haha. Pretty impressive. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I think I
told you guys, but I might have forgotten. President changed our schedule so
that we have to enter into the house at nine and we have to get up at 6:30 like
the rest of the missionaries in the world. It was nice being able to wake up at 7:30.
It was super easy to get up on time. At first the change was a little tough, but I
am liking it a lot now! Think I am changing into a little bit of an early bird!
I think it is a good habit to have though
- definitely can get more stuff done that is for sure! And some other good news - we did get to move houses this week!!! Wahoo!! It was getting pretty nasty in the little
apartment - four guys in a small space starts to smell not so nicely. But now we are in a big nice house - just us
two, haha. Feels kinda empty but it has
been super nice to have the space. It
does get way cold in the mornings and at night, but I cannot complain at all! We have our own closet! And our own bathroom! That has made life super nice! And there is a running machine thing and a
keyboard. I have been practicing the
simple hymns a little bit so we will see where I get to, haha.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well the
best thing that happened this week was the baptism of Silvia and Winston!!! Armando did not quite make it, but we are
gonna try to do it this week or the next. He is almost there, but just not quite ready. But the baptism of Silvia and Winston turned
out super good! There were a bunch of
people there - never have seen that many people at a baptism before. There were about 60 that came and the best
part there were at least 20 non-members. Winston invited a bunch of his family and
friends and they all came! A lot of them
were crying and felt the spirit really strong so that was awesome! And Silvia also had some friends come that
were not members so that was really good too, and we had some great support
from the ward, so that was a plus. It
usually does not happen like that, so we were very happy with the turnout. Elder Caballero had the opportunity to baptize
Silvia and I was able to baptize Winston so it was a great opportunity for us! They are both great people who will help out
the ward a lot too. Winston has been investigating the Church for a year and a
half, so he has a very strong testimony. He has got a ton of potential. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> It was
also cool cause all of his friends that were there all speak perfect English! They all study English Literature in the University
with Winston, so I was able to talk to them all a lot and it looks like we are
gonna be able to send some good referrals too. Anyway it was a great weekend. Lots of miracles and good stuff!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> And Dad,
the picture of the poor houses - well that is just a tiny little thing they have.
Maybe 50 to a hundred people live there, and I have only seen a couple of those
in Chile. One just happens to be in my
sector and no, we do not enter into that, because that is where the drugs
and the murders all are - people always get shot and stabbed there, and one missionary
got robbed at gun point walking by there, so we just keep our distance, haha. But they don't really leave, and they are just
in their own world there.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Wo Dad,
those are some pretty sweet pics of the mountain goats fighting! I don't think I have ever seen that before! And Missy, that is a sweet bike! Please tell me that you guys bought that
thing?? haha.. I have talked to Cameron Turner
a little bit - seems like he is doing pretty good! Crazy that he is already home and that Blake
comes home here in a few weeks.. Time
really has gone by super fast - I cannot believe it! Sounds like you guys
had quite the experience up in Jackson this week with the house though! Lots of
things to keep you guys busy! Kinda
funny how when one thing happens it just all seems to come at the same time,
haha, but hopefully you can get the water heater and the car and the lawn mower
all figured out!! Lots of work to do!! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well
this week was pretty interesting. We got
a call Friday night form the Sister Missionaries that share the ward with us
and they were crying and pretty startled. Anyway somebody had broken into their
house and robbed a bunch of their stuff. So they spent the night in a house in another
zone, but Saturday President wanted them to move into our apartment cause it is
safer, so we got kicked out. So late Saturday
night we had to pack all our stuff out and move to the apartment of the other Elders
that are in our ward - it definitely ain't for 4 though. There is not room for anything so we just have
our bags in the living room and stuff. Sounds like today or tomorrow we are gonna be
moving to the house that the sisters were living in. So hopefully the robbers don't come back to
get us! But it is ok if they do I guess
- I was planning on giving a lot of the stuff I have away, before I head home
so I guess they can just take it if they want, haha. It has been tough living in the apartment with
all of us, so hopefully we can move out soon!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> The
work has been going great for us in our sector! We have two baptisms planned for this weekend
for Silvia and Winston, with a third possible miracle with Armando if everything
goes well! So pray for them! Silvia and Winston have been progressing a ton
and they are super ready! It is crazy
with Silvia - she has been working a lot so we have not been able to teach her
a lot, so we had to teach her all of the commandments Saturday night. Word of wisdom, tithing, law of chastity, Sabbath
day, and seriously all of them. But
after each one she just said "Of course I will live it. Why would I not? If that is what the Lord wants so I can be a
member of His church then I will do it! So she committed to stop drinking coffee and
tea Saturday, and she gave all the tea and coffee she had away to her coworkers
today. She said she has been drinking
tea everyday of her life for the last 30 years. But we called her today and were asking her
about it and she said she has no desire to drink it. So that was pretty cool! It has been awesome working with her - just
super ready!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> We also
had another pretty cool miracle this week. We were waiting in the chapel Saturday
afternoon for an investigator to show up so that we can teach him, and while we
were waiting we heard a knock on the door. So we opened it and it was a guy that we did
not recognize. We asked what we could do
for him and he told us the missionaries were teaching him a couple of years ago
but he couldn't go on because of his work, but said that he has found a new job
and asked if it would be possible if we could teach him, haha. Well, of course we said yes! It was a pretty cool experience - that sure
has not happened before! Anyway, I am
doing great down here, and really loving the work and this ward! Hope I don't get changed out!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I
hope that you all are doing good! I love
and miss you all! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Well it was
great to talk to you guys on Saturday. Sorry about all my computer stuff not working
so good, but it was still really good to see you all and talk to you for a
while! Well I don't feel like I have too
much to talk about in my letter since I just talked to you all!! But thanks for sending all the pics and stuff,
Dad. And I think I am gonna fly into Salt
Lake if that is alright with you guys. I
have to turn the paper in tomorrow where it says where I am flying to, so I hope
that is alright! Man looks like it is
still snowing pretty good up there - that is pretty crazy!! Save some snow for next winter will ya! Don't let it all come this winter!! Sorry to hear about your dislocated rib or
whatever you got Mom! That is not very
fun stuff - I hope that it gets better soon!! I bet it makes it hard to do everything that
you need to do!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

emailed you on Tuesday because we had changes so our p-day got moved to Tuesday.
Today I sent some pics of our p-day. We just relaxed, watched the Joseph Smith
movie and made some quesadillas with guacamole. It turned out pretty good! Our investigators
are all doing pretty well. A lot came to
church yesterday so that was good - still progressing a lot! We are excited for them! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola! Yup, fall
has definitely arrived down here - we actually had a little bit of rain for the
first time! It was nice walking around
with an umbrella and stuff. I think
people are a little more receptive when we are standing out in the rain, haha. Makes it nice!! Those recording pics look pretty legit! What are you working on Rosie? Thanks for getting all of the stuff figured
out Dad, for my BYU-I stuff. I got on
and looks like everything is good! That
is nice about the scholarship - sure does make things a little bit cheaper!! Studying a little bit extra really does pay :)
I will try to figure out the classes
that I need, and then I will probably have you register for me cause I am guessing
I will not be able to come to a cyber that day to register! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Like you
guys, we just had our Stake Conference here this week too! The talks were great but sadly, I guess the
members kinda took it as a vacation. Sure
were not very many people there! Us
missionaries were half the crowd Saturday night in the adult session, haha. Our stake is now the weakest stake in our mission.
So we've got lots of work to do. This new program that we are doing definitely
applies to us, we have a ton of menos activo that need some help!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> This week
was really good working with our investigators. We have 5 that are pretty solid now that
should be able to get baptized here this month and next month if everything
goes good. We have Winston, Sylvia,
Freddy, Armando (a Columbian) and Benedicto. Benedicto still needs to stop smoking but he
has been doing good, and progressing a lot!! We also had changes this
week. Me and my comp were the only zone
leaders in the mission that did not get changed this change, everyone else did,
and in a lot of zones they took both of the zone leaders out. So I guess there is a reason that we are still
together. We are both ready to work super
hard though. President told us that he
could not take us apart yet, and we have lots of things to do together, so I
guess we will find out what! We have been working on improving his English
a lot - he wants to go to BYU so we have been working hard on that too. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> This
weekend is the weekend we are going to do the call! We are gonna try to do it at 3:30 our time on Saturday
if that is alright with you guys?? We just changed the time back a couple
of weeks ago, but I am sure you can figure out what time it is, haha. That is when it is best for my comp, but I
figured it would work for you guys too right? We can do it with everyone again for sure. I forgot my e-mail address I used last time
for the Google Hangout, so I will have to make a new one, but can you send me
the e-mail address you guys are going to use and I will find you when I get
on?? <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well I am
looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend! We will talk more then! Have a great week!!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Shoot, I
think you are right Dad, I really don't think I will recognize them when I get
back!! Pretty crazy stuff! I am excited for the rain this week! I hope it actually gets here!! :) It will be the first time in a long time!! About the drivers license - you can just keep it
there - I shouldn't need it for anything down here! And about the classes for BYUI, well, I am not
sure. It depends on what day it is. I think that I will have to tell you beforehand
exactly what I want and then I think you guys will have to do it there early
one morning, but I will look into it today! Sounds like a pretty big project you guys had
getting the tree out of Grandmas yard!! I
bet it looks pretty different now! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well
it was another pretty good week down here in Santiago! The weather was super nice, perfect for going
out and working! We took advantage of it
too! We had one of the best weeks that I
have had in a while - pretty fun stuff. We were able to put some more baptismal dates
with some people, and we had a great turnout of investigators at church, so
that was pretty sweet. We had some
husbands come with wives that have never stepped foot in the chapel before, so
that was pretty cool to see that! And we
also got some good strong investigators now that are coming to church. The two strongest ones are Winston and Sylvia.
I think I talked a little bit about them
last time. Big miracles that we were able
to see here. It was actually pretty cool
cause the mission has a card that we pass out to the members that they put
names of friends on that they want to invite to church. Turns out that one of the members had put Sylvia's
name on the card and we did not even know it. When we called the Hermana to see if she could
come to a lesson with a lady we had met and were teaching named Sylvia. She was
a pretty happy lady when she saw that it was her friend Sylvia she had put on
her card - pretty cool how it all turned out - looks like it is Sylvias time! The members did a great job of fellowshipping
her this week too. So she is doing
great, excited for her baptism and everything. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> We also
had two special mission conferences this week, one with our President and the
other with the Area President, President Gonzalez. Turns out our mission was chosen for a new
pilot program the church is starting. Our mission is one of four in the world that
is doing it. We were chosen cause we
have one of the greatest amounts of inactive members in the whole world,
pretty sad stuff, haha. But anyway, I think
the new thing we are doing will help a lot. The new program that we are doing is that the
missionaries focus 100% on inactive members. In all the other missions in the world
missionaries have key indicators that they have to report every week, like lessons
with a member present, new investigators, contacts, referrals received and
contacted, baptismal dates, lessons taught to less actives, and all of the
normal numbers. Well starting this week
we do not report any of that, and the only thing the missionaries are reporting
are baptisms and less actives that attended church. Just those two, so it is gonna weed out a lot
of the missionaries that just work to get numbers that is for sure, haha. It is gonna be quite interesting. The numbers have always been a big part of the
mission so it is gonna be super weird to not be using them! Just working with less acitves, and baptizing,
that is all they want from us. They just
want us to be creative and teach a lot of people, and have the church attendance
grow, haha. So it is gonna be an
interesting change. The ward is supposed
to be super involved though, so hopefully we can get them going. I am excited for the change though, it should
be fun! We will still be teaching a lot of non members too, just by trying to
find less actives we will be able to teach non members so it should be good and
I am excited for it all! President Gonzalez said, well, it is coming down to
the end of things, the Lord is putting together his last gathering down here in
Chile and Argentina. We are definitely
in the last days that is for sure, and the Lord is hastening his work! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I hope
everyone is doing good up in the good ole United States! It was great to hear from you this week and
see pictures of everyone! I am doing
great down here and loving every day! I
love you and miss you all!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola! Thanks for
the letter and the pictures! Those are
some pretty sweet mountain goats you saw there - looks like they were down
pretty close this year! And it looks
like I am gonna have another warm week down here! The weather has been super nice lately and I
have been enjoying it a lot!! Sounds like you guys have a lot of work to
do to get caught up with everything there in the yard and stuff! Sounds like fun :) And thanks for sending the package! I am looking forward to it! This week was another pretty good week down
here! In the Mission they have been
doing a big musical program for Easter and we have been doing a lot of announcing
for it and everything, and making a lot of big advertisements for it. It was last night and more than 1000 people
showed up to it! It was a group of
missionaries from the mission that sing good and there were some videos and
stuff - turned out to be pretty good! I have never seen a chapel that full down here,
that is for sure. President was pretty
happy about it. At least a fourth of the
people were nonmembers so that was pretty cool! We were able to bring a couple of investigators
and they enjoyed it a lot! This week we
were able to see a couple more miracles happen in our sector. Well last week I talked about a guy that came
to church last week that speaks English. Well he gave us a number but it turned out to
be the wrong number, so we had no contact with him all week long. We thought he was lost, but turns out he
showed up again. Said he wasn't gonna
miss church for anything. He said his
parents were mad at him for coming but he still did it. That stuff sure does not happen very much down
here! He is a great kid, and super ready
for the gospel. Also we have been doing
tours of the chapel. Every Saturday, us
8 missionaries from the ward open up the church and we give tours to people,
and anyway the Hermanas did a tour with a lady, and she showed up for church
the next day, that sure does not happen very often either! She started bawling during the Sacrament. I guess she felt the spirit, and she asked us
if we could come to her house and teach her more about the church - she is
super ready too. We had been working
hard all week but did not see many results, so it was great to see some
miracles at the end of the week! Always
makes me feel good! Anyway, it turned out
to be a pretty good week! I also had to
give a talk yesterday for Easter. I had
to fill 20 minutes but it sure is a lot easier now that I can speak Spanish! I remember back in La Islita when I didn't
speak too good, and I had to fill like 40 minutes - that was not too fun! It sure is nice though being able to speak the
language - sure am more effective now, that is for sure! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Today we

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Looks like
you guys had a pretty good bike ride in the Park! My comp from Paraguay could not believe all
the snow. He lives by the Amazon so it
makes sense, haha. He thought the
picture was fake though, and didn't really believe it! Thanks for getting the gel and those nasty
sunflower seeds! I sure do like those
nasty things though :) Gives me
something to chew on in the mornings - think I need to hold back on the mate a
little bit!! Wow that is a pretty sweet
story about Derrick Wolfley - that is pretty crazy stuff!! It is awesome how things just "work out"
sometimes! That is pretty cool that Darrin
Taylor and his wife are gonna start listening to the missionaries. I don`t remember too much about them but I do
remember them a little bit. Looks like the work is moving forward there
in Star Valley! Pretty cool stuff. I really don't remember hearing about anybody
getting baptized much when I was growing up - sure didn't happen very often! Looks like the Ward Mission Leader is doing
good or something like that!! Well we
had a pretty good week this week - we were able to put a baptismal date with a
new guy we found and we were able to find a couple of miracle kids. They both happen to speak perfect English. They are both 22. One of them showed up to our English class, and
since he spoke perfect English, he and I were just talking in the chapel and he
started asking questions about the Church and stuff. I ended up teaching him the first lesson, but
man it was tough in English. I think I butchered
it a little bit. I have never taught it
in English, not even in the MTC, so it was a fun experience, but it was good
practice cause Sunday another 22 year old kid showed up to church and said he
is dating a Mormon and wants to learn more about the church. That does not happen very often!! So I ended up teaching him lesson one in English
too. Looks like the Lord is preparing me
to go on splits with the missionaries and teach in English when I get home, haha.
Anyway, it was pretty cool meeting these
two kids. They are awesome and really
interested. My comp and I were kind of
down cause we had worked really hard this week, but not too much was happening,
so it was awesome to be able to see some miracles like that happen with those
two boys. They are exactly alike but
have never met each other before. Good
thing we met them the same week, because they will be able to support each
other in the church! So we will see how
that comes along!! But other than that is was a pretty normal week here in Chile
- the temperature was great so that made it nice! Just enjoying the good old Chilean life down
here! I hope everyone is doing good! I love you all!! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola! Thanks for
sending all the pictures again. Looks
like you guys had a great weekend, and nice fishing pole Mom! Don't catch them all before I get there
please!! Couldn't believe how old Hannah
is looking! Well it was a pretty good
week this week down here. Everybody was
talking a lot about the earthquakes and everything. One of the inactive ladies we are teaching
husband was staying in a hotel in the town where the big earthquake happened
the other day, and she was pretty scared about the whole thing. All the phone lines and everything were cut so
she could not hear from him for a few days. She was pretty distressed there for a while,
and we were there when her husband finally was able to call. Haven't seen anybody that happy in my life! And yes we did feel the earthquake that passed
through a couple of days ago. My comp
was talking on the phone and I was eating a cucumber and we heard a big noise
like a train was coming, and then it started shaking pretty hard! I guess everyone was so paranoid from the big
ones that happened in the north cause that was the only thing that was on the
news for the last week, so when it started to shake, everybody started running
outside and all the women and kids were screaming. The whole ground shaking thing did not scare
me as much as the screaming. We live in a
pretty big apartment complex, so there were ALOT of women screaming. Sure
was not that big, but long and big enough to scare the people a little! After hearing all the people screaming and
stuff, it made me think about the Mormon Message with Elder Nelson when he talks
about the airplane he was on that caught on fire and everybody started
screaming and freaking out. I just
wanted to go around teaching everybody that night, after how scared they were. Made me realize how much the gospel and the
plan of salvation really does comfort us! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Things are
still going pretty good in our sector. Had
lots of stuff to do this week, but we still were able to find some good people
and have some good lessons. And
Conference was great this time. I have
really learned how to enjoy and get way more out of Conference here on the
mission. Think I took a book of notes
this time - gets longer every conference! I think the mate helped me stay awake a little
bit too! Good stuff! I really like the talk by President Uchtdorf
about being thankful. I think that
one is gonna help our investigator, Benedicto, out a lot. He has been pretty depressed, but I think that
will help a lot - it was just for him.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> That is good
you were able to get some stuff planted in the green house already Dad! Speaking of fruits and vegetables, bananas
were the one thing I could still not eat down here, cause they are from Ecuador,
just like the ones we eat in the states, but I decided to try them again, and
didn't have any problems. I have been
eating about three kilos a week - didn't realize all the goodness I was missing
for so many years, haha. So hope the problem
does not come back in the states though, cause I have come to love tomato and
avocado a lot down here, so I am just hoping it is gone for good!!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well I had
better get going, but thanks for the email Dad, and thanks for all the letters
you send Mom - I still get them and I enjoy them a lot!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Hey Dad, one
thing I could use is one more little bottle of that American Crew hair stuff
you sent me a while ago, could you send me some of that again?? It is the one with the blue sticker on it. And some dill pickle spitz sunflower seeds
would be real good too!! :) Thanks dad
:)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Sounds like
you all had a pretty good weekend there in Salt Lake! Sounds like it was
pretty busy, but it is good that you guys all got to get together! Thanks for sending all the pictures again - I
always enjoy them! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I had a
pretty good week down here in Santiago! It
was nice. The weather guy finally hit
the switch and it cooled down a bunch this week - we had to use a jacket every
evening so that was a nice change! I
feel like I can work a little bit harder when it isn't so hot outside!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> It has
been fun being with my old comp again. Feels
like old times again but it has been great finally being able to teach together.
Companionship unity has not been too
hard for us, so now we are just trying to take out the trash in our sector!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well Mom,
it is kinda hard to send stuff from down here in Chile, so I just decided to
have a baptism for your birthday instead, haha. Patricio got baptized Saturday, the 29th!! It was pretty sweet! It was actually the first time that I have
baptized someone outside of doing baptisms for the dead, so it was a cool
experience for me. All of the other
baptisms I have had in the mission, members have baptized the investigators,
but it was fun to be able to do it once!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Patricio
has become a pretty good friend for me down here. I was super happy to see him get baptized. He has changed a lot in the last 6 weeks. We first contacted him my first week in this
sector. And he is super committed to
living the gospel and stuff. He said he
decided to be baptized because he saw how happy all the Mormons are. So it made me realize that people really are
watching us, so we've always got to be a good example and be happy, cause that
is what people are searching for! Just
to find real happiness!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I am
getting pretty excited for conference this week! It is better than Christmas out here on the
mission! We actually get to watch all of
it and we get to watch it in English if we want in the High Council room! So we can drink some mate and eat food and
stuff, so it makes it nice! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Pretty
crazy that Nathan Heiner is already coming down here - feels like he should be
in 8th grade! And Kade is leaving next
week - pretty cool stuff! It is gonna be
awhile before I see that kid again! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well, I

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola!! Woo, Drew
is already a deacon?!?! Man I am getting
old! That is pretty crazy stuff! Cayden is gonna be heading off on his mission
before we know it! I feel like the new
18 year olds that are just coming in don't look much older than he is, haha. That is sweet that you guys are all heading
down to Salt Lake for Mom's birthday!! Happy
Birthday Mom!!!!! I hope it is a great
one! You sure do look better than most
60 year olds I have see down here!! ;) haha. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Man I was
sure happy to see the temperatures cooling down towards the end of this week. It was a very hot week this week, one of the
hottest I've felt all summer long, so I am looking forward to it cooling down a
bit! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> So I was
thinking, if it is Mom's birthday this week, that means it has been two years
ago this week, that I got my mission call. That is some pretty crazy stuff! Can't believe how fast the time has passed by
these last two years.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> This week was a pretty good one - started
with a baaaaaad case of food poisoning though. I think it was Thursday the four of us
missionaries ate with a member and in the middle of the night at about 2 one of
the other elders called me saying that he was super sick and was throwing up a
lot and just felt terrible. After that I
was trying to go back to sleep and then it hit me hard - let's just say I was
in the bathroom from 2 until 7 in the morning and all day the next day in the
chapel. The other two elders that ate with
us had the same thing - it was bad. Then
that night at the chapel one of the lady's sons who we ate with called us and
asked if we were sick, cause he and his 6 other brothers and the dad, had been
super sick all day. We had all eaten
together the day before so we kinda figured what it must have been, haha. We had eaten a Chilean dish called parrotos
con masa mora. It is beans in this
corn sauce stuff, with some meat, but man that stuff destroyed us, haha. It was an interesting day!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Then Saturday
I had a pretty good surprise - my old comp, Elder Caballero, that I was with in
the office for three changes called me up and said that president told us we
could go over to the other part of the city to visit a guy that we had
been working with before - he is the really rich one that lives in a penthouse
in the middle of Santiago. So we got to
go visit him and it was a pretty good day.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Then yesterday
my comp went home! And I had a pretty
big surprise about who my new comp is. We
were sitting in the changes meeting and President announced that I was going to
be a Zone Leader here in Cerrillos with Elder Caballero!! We were already companions for 3 changes, or 4
and a half months in the office, so it was a huge surprise for us, cause stuff
like that sure does not happen very often. Anyway, were are pretty
excited because we became pretty good friends when we were comps before, so it
should be really good! It still feels
pretty crazy that we are back together again, but I think it is gonna be lots
of fun! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Well I
hope that you guys have a great weekend up there in Salt Lake! Sounds like it is gonna be a lot of fun! And about coming to get me, I think it would
be good if I just came home. If you guys
came, I just wouldn't have any time at home or anything. I think it will work out a lot better if I
just come home, so I will just plan on that! </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> I hope
everyone is doing great - have a great week this week! Happy birthday Mom!!!<o:p></o:p></span><br />

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Hola! Thanks for
all the pictures and stuff Dad, it looks like you are really enjoying those
trips to Jackson every week!! And man, that is a lot of snow up there
still! Or a really short sign! And
I think you are right about Cayden - I better get pumping those weights in the
mornings or I am gonna be in trouble! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> About
the earthquake: Yesterday we were in a
lesson with a less active lady and her kids and the neighbor came running over
and told us about the earthquake, because the husband of the lady we were
teaching was in the town of Iqueqe where it happened so she started to freak
out a little bit, but we called up her husband and said everything was fine. Said it shook pretty dang good, but nothing
bad happened. He had to evacuate the
city for a tsunami warning, but as far as I know nothing happened though. But that was not the first earthquake that happened
down here - I forgot to tell you about it last week but about a week and a half
ago we had a pretty decent one down here in Santiago. I heard it was a 5.8 but not exactly sure. It was pretty funny though, because I was
talking to my comp about why he sleeps in his clothes, cause it has been pretty
hot at nights and I always sleep just in my underwear. He always told me I was stupid for doing that,
but he would never tell me why. Anyway I
found out why - I had to learn by experience! He lives right next to Chile, so he has
experienced quite a few earthquakes in his life. But anyways, I was sound asleep and it was
about two in the morning, and I started to hear my comp yell vamos vamos!! And I was still pretty out of it and just said
que te pasa or what's wrong with you?? Then
I felt what was wrong, my bed was shaking really bad, haha. Anyway, he was already opening the front door,
so I took off towards the door, but forgot my glasses, and you all know how
blind I am, and so when I was running down the stairs from our apartment
building I realized two things - I couldn't see, and I was in my underwear,
haha. By the time I realized it I was at
the bottom of the stairs and there was definitely more people than just my comp
outside, so I decided the ground was not shaking too bad and took off towards
the apartment again, haha. Figured it
would be better to take my chances than be out in my underwear, haha. So I
ran to my closet and started to put on some shorts and a t-shirt but by that time the ground had stopped
shaking, and my comp was back up in the room dying of laughter, haha. Thought it was pretty funny stuff!! Anyways, I learned why it ain't good to just
sleep in your underwear here in Chile. All my comp said was le dije jill,
or I told ya fool, haha, then we went back to bed for the night. It was the biggest earthquake I have felt in
my life though, pretty cool stuff. I
thought a train was driving though our apartment complex, pretty loud stuff! But after that one there were three or four
more the next few days, a little smaller but still pretty strong. It has been kinda fun! And don't worry, I sleep in shorts now, haha.
Everybody thinks we are gonna see a big one down here in Santiago anytime
soon so we will see what happens - just gotta keep living the commandments and I
will be all good, haha. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Other than the
earthquakes, it has been a pretty good week so far! Patricio and Benedicto both came to church
yesterday, and Benedicto is starting the process to quit smoking. It is gonna be tough, but I am sure he will be
able to do it. He has changed a lot
from the first time I met him drunk on the street! And Patricio is doing good and wants to be
baptized but is heading to the south for a while, so hopefully we don't lose
him with that - I think he will be ok though.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> This week we
were able to find some good new people doing tours of the chapel. We did a tour with one guy, a big guy,
probably 6 foot 3, and has to be about 350 to 400 pounds, but he was super
interested. He liked it all a lot, and wanted
us to come by and share our message with the ELEVEN kids that he has. Ya, think we found the jackpot with his family,
haha. We have a lesson with them Wednesday,
so we will see how that goes! He is a
pretty sweet guy.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Other than
that it was a pretty normal week. My comp
goes home in a week, so he is getting pretty trunky, haha. I'm just trying to hang in there with him! He is getting pretty scared though, and it
makes me nervous just watching him! Oh
by the way Dad, President is sending us home two weeks before the 9th of September.
It would be great for you guys to come,
but not sure if there is time. Sure
would not have very much time at home. Kinda
wanna enjoy the mountains a little bit before I head off to school and stuff! But what do you guys think? It would be about the 25th of August when I
would be heading home.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> Hey that is a
pretty sweet pen that you made! Getting
pretty good Dad!!!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">I hope everyone is doing great!! Have a great week this week! Les quiero mucho!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
