Hola!  Wow, those are some pretty cool pictures of the Bedford sunset and stuff!  That one made me kinda trunky, haha.  Man, Cameron beat my record for the biggest fish haha, looks like I found my fishin buddy!  It has been pretty warm again this week!  Saturday we did a service project and washed cars at the chapel while some of the missionaries did tours for the people while their cars were getting washed.  It was a pretty good activity, but man I got sun burned!  I needed a little color though - I was getting pretty white!  Turned out to be a pretty good activity, but I was surprised how much Chileans don't like free stuff!  Guess it was just cause it was the Mormons giving it to them, haha.  Took us forever to get people to let us wash their car, haha.  I thought it was pretty funny.  But we did have some good experiences with it though!  We met some good people.  We also had another service activity cleaning out the house of an alcoholic that we are teaching - man that thing was nasty.  We pulled out like 20 huge bags of trash that was just all over the floor and everything.  We have been trying to help him - he wants to change and he has been going to church and reading and everything and wants to be baptized, but just can't stop smoking and drinking.  He goes crazy if he doesn't have it.  Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how we could help him and stuff - never really had to help anyone stop drinking and smoking before.
Patricio is still doing really good.  He is progressing good and everything, and we are planning for his baptism here in a couple of weeks, so hopefully everything goes good with him.  It has been cool watching him understand all the stuff we teach and how excited he is about it all - definitely makes the whole mission experience worth it!
Looks like you guys had a pretty good trip down there in Utah - looks fun!  Man, you can send some of that snow down here to me!!  That is something I miss for sure.
About the temple names you guys sent me - I was not able to use them cause I got transferred before I was able to go to the temple with Abraham.  So you guys can go ahead and use them.  I might ask for some more next time, but it will be awhile I am sure.
And about where I am living and stuff.  I can't really remember the street I live on but the church I go to is the one on the road Primo de Rivera.  And I live in apartments that are about ten blocks or so to the north.  It is the last road before you get to the freeway to the north, I am pretty sure.  I got lucky and have a washing machine again, cause that is where the sister missionaries used to live, so I am happy about that one!!  And we eat lunch every day with the members here.  This is the second biggest ward in our mission so they are pretty good about lunches and stuff.  And for breakfast I bought 4 kilos of blueberries this week and like 2 kilos of peaches - found some pretty good deals in the feria!!  It was like a buck a kilo for the blueberries - a dollar for over two pounds. Sounded like a pretty good deal to me, haha.  So I eat those with some cereal every day.  And dinner, well we just eat a lot for lunch, haha.  Don't really eat dinner too much down here.  But anyway, everything is going great!  I am happy and lovin the mission!  I hope you guys are all good!!  Have a great week this week!!

Hola everyone!!  Well, starting this week my p-day is gonna be on Monday from now on.  This week was a little different but the rest will always be Monday.  Man, I didn't realize how big of a change it really would be to be back out into the field working like a real missionary!  The last 6 months I have just been worrying about and finding houses, but now I am starting and trying to worry and find people!  Just got to switch my mind back over I guess!  I am in a pretty good sector I guess!  I got put in as Zone Leader in the zone of Los Cerrillos.  My ward is called Primo de Rivera.  I am only about 10 minutes away from the office and my old sector, haha, so it is kinda weird.  But it should be good and  I am pretty excited for it!  I do have a lot of work ahead of me though.  Los Cerriollos is the deadest zone in the mission right now, in terms of everything.  Attendance has been dropping bad and there have been barely any baptisms.  I was kinda scared at first, still am, cause I don't really remember how to be a real missionary, but I'm pretty excited though.  Ready to work hard and lay it all out on the table, and see what I can do here.  I did get a pretty good comp though!  His name is Elder Manzano.   Elder Appletree in English, haha.  He is from Argentina.  He is a super hard worker, and knows a lot of stuff.  I am excited to learn a lot from him.  He is one of the guys who had to drop out of school and start working when he was 15 to support his family cause his dad left the family.  So he definitely knows how to work.  This kid doesn't stop, haha.  So I should be able to get back into the swing of things pretty fast I hope.  I do have some good friends in the zone too, so hopefully we can get everyone goin!  Well, I hope everyone is doing good and everything!!  I gotta get headin out for today.  But next Monday I will write some more!  Have a great week this week!

Hola!!  Well I am glad to see that it is gonna start cooling down a little bit towards the end of this week, cause I sure will not be in an air conditioned car or office, haha.  Yesterday, President told me that yes, for sure, I have changes and will be leaving the office.  I am pretty excited to start the last leg of the mission though!  Probably is gonna be my last sector, so got to do my best for sure.  I feel like everything I have been learning the last 18 months has been preparing me for these 6 months, so I am pretty excited to go out and work hard.  Feel like I will be able to be a little more prepared as a missionary now, so we will see how it goes!!
Well since it was our last weekend and p-day here in the office, and Elder Nelson the secretary that came into the office with me is leaving too, we decided we had better make the best of it!  And we sure did!!  Friday night President invited me and Elder Nelson up to his house and we just ate cake and just talked to him and his wife for a while - just saying thanks for being in the office sort of a thing, I guess, so that was pretty cool.  Then later we had a sweet barbeque up on the roof of our apartment!  We bought the meat the night before and had it marinating and everything - pretty good stuff!  Found a store that sells Mtn. Dew too, haha.  I figure Mom won't be too happy with me, but man that stuff tasted good!!  After 18 months my taste buds needed some of that stuff!  Anyway, it turned out to be a great night with some of my good friends I have made here on the mission.  And today we had barbeque number two with the rest of the office crew. We headed down south a little ways to a sweet lake!  Felt like I was on vacation haha.  It was pretty sweet there - felt like I was in Idaho or Wyoming or something.  We cooked up the other part of the meat we had, and played some soccer and relaxed a little bit.  Had to take advantage of my last p-day in the office - feel like I did pretty good!  Pretty sure I am gonna have to wait 6 months before I will be able to do that one again!!
Thanks for checking up on the BYUI stuff and things.  I sent you another email with the username and password, and you should be able to get on now!
That is pretty crazy that it has been a year since Grandpa passed away.  I remember that night pretty clearly when I got a call from President King telling me what had happened - don't think I will ever forget that moment.  I remember staying up that night reading the chapters around Alma 40 - pretty cool how much comfort the scriptures can give.  That has been something I have learned a lot on the mission - the importance of the scriptures and what they actually mean and what they can do for us.  Glad to be able to have this bigger appreciation for them!
Good job on all the missionary stuff you guys are doing!  You guys are really going to town now!  That is pretty cool - sounds like the ward is getting a little more involved with that stuff - good to hear!!
For housing at BYUI, me and Elder Harman are planning to live together, so we are just trying to figure out for sure what we are gonna do.  There is a new place in Rexburg that looks pretty nice.  It is a little more, but would be fun for a semester or two haha.  I do need to get on that though.  I might send a letter a little later or tomorrow saying something more about that.  We need to get it figured out soon.
I am doing great, and can't think of anything I need right now!  Just some prayers as I go start the real missionary work!!  Thanks for the letter and all the pictures - I enjoyed them a lot!  And thanks Mom for all the Dear Elders you always send - I always enjoy them a lot!!  I hope everyone has a great week this week!!!  I love and miss you all!

Hola!  I hope everyone is doing good!  I had a great week this week - a little bit different from normal so that was nice!  To answer your questions about the new office and stuff:   That is the church we are going to be meeting in and stuff.  It has the strongest ward in Chile, so that will be pretty sweet!  And the office is the little building behind the church, on the bottom left corner on the same property as the church.  I still have not seen the inside of it yet.  And we live a couple blocks northeast of the church on the street Vergara con Sazie.  We just moved in two days ago, so we just travel back and forth to Maipu now.  It is a pretty sweet apartment!  Nicest I have lived in so far - I will send some pics of it next week.
The baptism of Abraham was great!  He had some member friends come in clear from the south of Chile for his baptism, so that was pretty cool, and he was pretty excited about that one.  He bore his testimony after and it sounded like he has been a member for a long while already!  It was pretty sweet!  Tomorrow he is going to be confirmed and get the Aaronic Priesthood, so he is pretty excited about that one, and then later on this week we are gonna try to get some family names and we are gonna go to the temple and do some baptisms for the dead with him!  Pretty pumped for that :)   You should send me some family names if you have any so I can do them!  Anyway it was a pretty good start of a week with the baptism and all, and then last night the other Elders in the office had a wedding for an investigator and a menos activo, and today is the baptism of the investigator that got married yesterday.  It was a pretty sweet experience!  I was able to do the interview for him and was impressed with him too.   There are some great men getting baptized into this ward right now, and tomorrow the sister missionaries are going to baptize three people, so the ward has been pretty excited - it has been good to see them goin!
Today me and Elder Harman got to have a pretty cool experience.  President told us that we could go and visit our converts in the Islita and to go help the ward out a little bit, so today we headed over and visited a few people over there.  It was his first sector and my second, so we had a ton of fun doing that.  People were pretty excited to see us and us them!  Had some really good lessons and stuff - was pretty happy for the opportunity to do that and that got me excited to head back into the field again!
Those are some pretty crazy experiences that happened in our ward at home this week!  That is really sad about the kid - pretty tough when stuff like that happens.  I bet that was pretty tough for the dad.  I hope everything is alright there!  And good job inviting the people and stuff.  That is awesome that you guys are having lessons in the house.  That is a missionary's dream to teach lessons in the house of members when the members have invited them - does not get better than that :)  Good job Mom and Dad!!
Well I better get going for tonight, but it was great to hear from you!  Hey can you guys just make sure I am registered for BYU-I and stuff?  Not even sure if I am enlisted for this next semester - might have to call - not sure!!!  But thank you!!
I hope you all have a great week this week!!!
